(Fort Wayne, Ind.) Print magazine recently published their 31st Regional Design Annual publication, showcasing 157 pages of the finest American design and advertising. One Lucky Guitar (OLG), the only Fort Wayne firm featured, caught the judges’ attention with the design for the second issue of Ferocious Quarterly (FQ).

Established at the end of 2009 and debuting in print in 2010, Ferocious Quarterly is a curated publication that collects work from illustrators, graphic artists and short fiction authors from around the world. The quarterly publication is sold online and at select locations around the country.

“We are committed to printing and gathering work from the published and the unpublished—the sung and the unsung—today’s active artists,” says FQ founder and OLG art director Nate Utesch.

The Regional Design Annual issue by Print magazine is the only comprehensive survey of design throughout the U.S. With 2,536 submissions this year from each corner of the country, a team of judges—including a representative from The New York Times and the Museum of Modern Art—weeded through the submitted work to identify and acknowledge the winning pieces. The winning entries ranged from packaging and campaign materials for the Coca-Cola Company, to an infographic for Fortune magazine visualizing how to find “hot” documents involved in a Wall Street scandal, to an ingenious storefront display made of packing pellets.
