I was cleaning out my home studio this weekend, organizing my paper samples, designer paraphernalia and books. I came across this old cover for "I, Robot" that I really like. The jacket cites Johannes Regn as the designer.

I love the simple typography. The illustration isn't particularly spectacular on its own, but in the context of the overall cover and colors I really love it. The cool blue and purples colors on this cover are great, too. Of course, the paper is thoroughly yellowed, so I'm sure the colors are quite a bit different from when they were originally printed. That being said, I look at awesome old crinkled and yellowed printed items like this and wonder if I'd like them as much if it was freshly printed and clean white paper today?

Ah well. This humble, obscure piece of design has been a nice inspiration for me over the years. Good Job Johannes.
