I'm illustrating a "secret" handshake (which really isn't all that secret once you look at it) for a new project. That means I have to draw some hands...

I've always had a hard time drawing hands. I remember my life drawing professor, Mr. Bauer, saying that "if you hate to draw hands (or feet, noses, eyes, etc...), fill up an entire sketchbook with them. Draw them until it hurts, until you master it." I never quite mastered drawing hands, but I did manage to eek out some good drawings here and there.

I still love to draw, though I don't draw nearly as much as I used to. So it felt great to dust off those old drawing skills after so long. It's amazing how much fundamental skills like life drawing come in handy as a designer.
