(Fort Wayne, Ind.) One Lucky Guitar (OLG) was named a winner in the most recent HOW Promotion Design Awards for three projects that were selected alongside 78 winning designs from top agencies. This highly selective and well-regarded competition, sponsored by HOW magazine, recognizes outstanding creative work produced by individuals and creative agencies from around the world.
Project title: The Fort Wayne Trails identity
Organization: Fort Wayne Trails
OLG received one award for the new identity crafted for Fort Wayne Trails. The logo and business suite captured the essence of the organization — identifying the accomplishments and history of trail advocacy, planning, and fundraising that Fort Wayne Trails carries on in place of the organizations that preceded it. The logo features the motto, “Activus Transportare,” Latin for ‘active transportation,’ which is a nod to the healthy and environmentally friendly benefits the trails bring to the community of Fort Wayne.
Project title: Dessert III poster
Organization: Arts United
OLG’s second recognized project was the DESSERT III event poster, developed for Arts United’s Taste of the Arts festival, a community-wide fundraising project to benefit Artists-in-Residence programs for areas schools. The poster featured event information and a large popsicle. Posters were mounted on popsicle sticks to play on the tasty image, and one wall-based display was designed to appear as though the popsicle was dripping down the side of a local building.
Project title: The Good Ones Clothing Company swag
Organization: The Good Ones Clothing Company
Also winning OLG an award, The Good Ones Clothing Company swag, included branded stickers, buttons, posters, guitar picks and packaging bags. OLG made a point to enhance each touch point of the purchasing process for The Good Ones customers, which they did through a great attention to detail. Each piece of swag brings The Good Ones characters — Stuart, Adrian, Franklin, Bullfrog and Paulie — to life.
HOW’s editorial and design team evaluated nearly 1,000 entries and selected winning projects that demonstrated an ideal mix of concept, strategy and execution. Entries were judged by type of work (i.e., Designer Promotions, Client Promotions, Personal Promotions) and also by how effectively the design achieved the stated business goals.
