Kids from Philly

This Sunday, we’re excited to host our seventh Lucky Ten show, featuring Philadelphia rock band Marah. In the earliest days of One Lucky Guitar, we’d handmake mixes for clients and three songs from Marah’s debut album were on the first volume (Songs We Played While We Worked on Your Projects). The band’s latter-day-Replacements-playing-early-day-Springsteen-with-Rocky-on-in-the-background sounds have driven the company ever since. Back in 2006, when we were working with Solstice Coaching & Consulting on OLG’s “ten year vision”, the band—not even just their music, but the band—would show up as the symbolic representation of the passion and purity, the volume and velocity, of what we wanted OLG to be.

Anyway, it means a hell of a lot that they’re playing in Fort Wayne, at the Brass Rail. We try not to make too many hyperbolic, politically charged statements in the OLG voice, but we’re absolutely positive this will be the best concert you see in Fort Wayne (or anywhere else) this year, and maybe what you end up remembering about 2010 more than any other moment.

Hearts a-bustin’ and eardrums a-blowin’ with the kids from Philly…
