Last year I was super lucky to be asked to contribute a piece to the online gallery called Silver Screen Society. SSC curates artists to create one-off pieces inspired by a new film every month. Over the last several months, Silver Screen Society has been working with 60 artists from their roster for a three week exhibit opening tonight. It’s called “Alternate Ending” and it’s at the Bottleneck Gallery in Brooklyn. Here’s Bottleneck’s message about the show:

Life is full of endings that we cannot change, goodbyes we cannot take back, and letters we cannot un-send. Classic movie endings stay forever frozen in our mind, and a tragic book ending can haunt you for days. That is why Bottleneck decided to change the rules of space and time, commissioning over 60 gifted artists for our “Alternate Ending” exhibit. Each artist will present a piece representing what they wish had happened at the end of a certain film, video game, or book. It is our chance to rewrite the end, and we hope to see you there.
.

The movie I selected was “The Wizard of Oz.”

A winged creature from the Land of Oz has slipped through the fabric that keeps our worlds at arms length. Dorothy’s dream is over. But her nightmare has only begun.
